Tru-Roll Projection Screens:

PROJECTION SCREEN WITH ADJUSTABLE SIDE MASKING
Tru-Roll™ Projection Screen and Masking assemblies are designed and manufactured for use in theatres, school auditoriums and other presentation facilities. Frames support screens and straight or curved Tru-Roll track for manual or automated adjustable masking.
SCREENS:
A variety of Stewart and Da-Lite front projection and rear projection screen surfaces are available to meet size and projection requirements. Screen material selection criteria include projector brightness, maximum viewing angle and level of ambient light.
Da-Lite offers over thirty different front and rear projection screen surfaces. Published design viewing angles range from 10 to 85 degrees. Screen effective reflectance Gain ranges from 0.6 to 4.0. Da-Lite also offers a number of manual and motorized roll-up screens ideal for conference rooms and smaller performance facilities.
Stewart Filmscreen offers 14 standard front and rear screen projection surfaces and 15 rigid rear projection surfaces. Published half gain viewing angles range from 30 to 70 degrees. Screen effective reflectance Gain ranges from 0.9 to 2.0. Stewart flexible screens are typically grommeted for installation on rigid frames and available without seams in sizes up to 40’ x 90’. Front projection screens are available with micro perforations for acoustical transparency, where speakers will be mounted behind the screen. Stewart also offers a selection of roll-up screens for conference room applications.
For best performance, screen-viewing angle should not exceed 45 degrees from a line perpendicular to the screen surface.
FRAMES:
Tru-Roll designs and manufactures rigid steel frames for fixed installation and frames rigged to be manually or automatically lofted above the stage. Fixed or adjustable black masking is usually included to frame the screen. Masking adjustment may be motorized or manually operated.
Frames and masking track may be fabricated flat or curved on one axis, depending on the projection system requirements.
SCREEN MASKING:
Tru-Roll uses acoustically transparent, THX approved fabrics for screen masking. Rigid straight edges are inserted into the masking fabric to provide a clean hard edge framing the screen. Special track leaders have been developed to support this edge top and bottom on the adjustable portions of the masking.
Automation may be employed to allow masking to be changed in conjunction with projection aspect ratio changes in the projection booth.
SERVICES:
Tru-Roll offers design, fabrication and installation supervision services for both new installations and replacement Projection Screen & Masking Systems.
