DRAPES
Draperies are fabricated to customer specifications. Typical construction includes a jute webbing reinforcement at top with sewn in ties or metal grommets and ties on one-foot centers. Clips may be substituted for ties for connection to drapery track carriers. Drapes may be sewn as flat panels or gathered with a specified percentage of fullness. The bottom of each panel typically includes a chain pocket to insure the drape hangs properly. Pipe pockets may be employed for flat panels. Styles of drapes include, but are not limited to, bi-parting and one-way travelers, contour lift curtains, masking borders and legs, Austrian puffs, opera drapes, swags and jabots. Draperies may be lined for opacity and fabricated with acoustically transparent or sound deadening materials.

SCRIMS, CYCLORAMAS & DROPS
These large flat fabric panels are typically constructed with a jute webbing reinforcement at the top with ties, or metal grommets and ties, on one-foot centers for attachment to a pipe batten. Side webbing may be added for horizontal stretching. The bottom is normally fitted with a lined pipe pocket for stretching out the fabric. A dust ruffle may be added in front of the pipe pocket, which makes first contact with the floor. Top snaps and a chain pocket will be substituted if the panel is to be track mounted.

Scrims may be fabricated from a number of open weave fabrics, notably sharkstooth scrim, bobinette or opera net. These fabrics appear opaque when lit from the front and semi-transparent lit from behind. Sharkstooth scrim is milled on 30 & 35 foot wide looms allowing for large seamless panels. This fabric is available in natural, white and black colors.

Cycloramas are generally fabricated using a smooth weave cotton or filled sharkstooth scrim (leno), providing large translucent seamless panels. These fabrics are also milled in 35-foot widths and are normally available in natural, white, gray, and sky blue. Opaque black cycloramas are frequently fabricated using cotton velour or duvetyne.

Drops intended to be scenically painted are typically fabricated using muslin, scenery grade cotton canvas or filled scrim. Where transparency is required, sharkstooth scrim or opera netting may be employed. Drops can be constructed either seamed or seamless.
