No. 1000 Heavy Duty Straight Track
The Tru Roll No. 1000 Heavy Duty Straight
Track is a traverse assembly incorporating 14 gauge roll-formed galvanized
steel construction. The tracks feature a unique drop flange design which
acts as a carrier guide and prevents dirt accumulation on the inner
track surface. A complete bi-parting track assembly consists of two
(2) independent tracks, each symmetrically located about the stage centerline.
The purpose of the No. 1000 Bi-Parting
Heavy Duty Straight Track is to obscure sections of the stage area from
the audience’s view by pulling a pair of drapery panels across
the stage or for moving stage scenery or similar items. To operate any
of the track systems, one simply pulls on an operating hand line (located
at the outside end of the track) to move the leader (master carrier)
in an on/off stage direction. A tension block is provided at the stage
floor to maintain the proper level of handline tension. Each carrier
and leader assembly is provided with a swivel and four (4) links of
jack chain. Curtain panels are provided with drapery snaps for easy
attachment to the jack chain.
No. 1000 Heavy Duty Straight Track may
also be rigged for one way or motorized operation and is available is
a rear rold/backpack style as well (see below).
The components of the track are as follows:
A.
Headblock and Tailblock
The headblock and tailblock consist of 5.1/2” dia., molded nylon,
ball bearing sheaves with 3/8” dia. axle bolts. Side plates
of eleven gauge steel mount to the track ends with the top bracket
functioning as an end stop to the carriers. Each block is fitted with
end stop to the carriers. Each block is fitted with fairleads to maintain
operating lines with pulley grooves.
Headblocks
and Tail blocks are also available with an 8" hylatron sheave
with ball bearings and a 1/2" axle bolt to improve track performance
on longer length tracks and heavier draperies.
B.
Hanger Brackets
Two piece hanger brackets of eleven gauge cold formed steel are supplied
at 5’-0” centers, with double brackets at the center lap
incorporating an end stop and cable support idler.
C.
Carriers
Carriers consist of mold formed nylon bodies with built in guide fins
and each body is fitted with either two (2) neoprene tired nylon wheels
or two (2) nylon wheels mounted on ball bearings (but without neoprene
covering), riveted securely on stud axles. Each carrier is provided
with a 4” trim chain and swivel for curtain attachment. One
carrier is supplied for each lineal foot of track.
D.
Track Leaders
Track leaders are of four wheel construction, consisting of double
carriers joined to a steel body unit. Truck wheels are approximately
6” on center. The operating line attaches to the leader with
double rope clips and four (4) bolts.
E.
Floating Tension Block
The tension block has a 5.1/2” dia. cast iorn pulley with a
machined rope groove for 3/8” dia. operating line. Each pulley
mounts in a cast iron housing turning on hardened steel bushing with
a 3/8” dia. axle bolt. The tension block assembly may be lashed
directly to the stage floor with a cotton tie-line.
F.
Floor Mounted Tension Block
A floor mounted tension block is also available with a 5 1/2"
dia. nylon pulley and 7 inches of adjustment. The pulley mounts
in 10gauge stell plate and turns on a hardened steel bushing with
3/8" dia. operating line.
G.
Operating Line
No. 12, 3/8” dia., bronze wire center, waterproofed, mahogany
finish bell cord is provided to operate the track hardware.
Care
and maintenance of the No. 1000 Heavy Duty Straight Track is minimal.
The lower flange of the track channel (where the carrier guide fins
make contact with the track) should be lubricated at approximately twelve
(12) month intervals. A silicone-based clear composition grease is ideal
for this purpose.
Care
should be used when applying the lubricant, avoiding the inner surface
of the track where the carrier wheels roll. No lubrication is required
for the carrier or leader wheels. The track pulleys (i.e. headblock
and tailblock) incorporate a ball bearing construction and are factory
lubricated prior to assembly, eliminating the need for routine maintenance.
